What you will contribute to the team

  • Provide high value consultancy to customers at the enterprise, programme, and project level.
  • Leading the projects and team members, providing guidance and support.
  • Develop and manage the project plan to ensure that the team delivers to time, cost and quality. 
  • Manage the key project decisions required to drive the project forward, to meet Client and stakeholder expectations, influencing effectively.
  • Manage project risks, issues and changes, negotiate assignment with responsible parties and hold stakeholders accountable
  • Guide negotiations to obtain mutually beneficial outcomes and resolve conflicts with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain the Project Execution Plan setting out the project management approach for the project.
  • Develop supporting management plan for key topics such as design, stakeholder and interface management, and put them into action. 
  • Develop delivery strategies and roadmaps for projects and supporting schedules.
  • Plan and co-ordinate the resources required to deliver the programme of work, collaborating with other disciplines as required.
  • Ensure robust project governance, clear progress reporting and monitoring, engaging both internally and with the client, and the client’s senior management.
  • Manage commercial success of the project, in accordance with the contract.

 

Candidate Specification

Essential

  • Minimum 10 years of Aviation project delivery experience
  • Degree qualified and chartered project manager or equivalent
  • Experience in manging the design, implementation, and commissioning of mission critical systems at major international airports
  • Experience of managing the delivery of IT Infrastructure and Operational Systems into construction programmes.
  • Strong customer service and customer centre experience
  • Good knowledge of budgeting, financial reporting, and resource allocation procedures
  • PMO experience, including risk, opportunity, and issues management 
  • Excellent analytical and organisational ability
  • Ability to improve project/program delivery methods and coach the team
  • Strong stakeholder management capability, covering a wide range of aviation stakeholders 
  • Team player and culturally sensitive.
  • Commercial and contract management

 

Desirable

  • Knowledge of the latest trends across aviation, within aviation digital and more generally across digital and technology. 
  • A strong customer-centric perspective that focuses on outcomes and whole-life value.
  • Knowledge of the test and commissioning of aviation digital solutions and their integration.
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal and visual) carried through into project deliverables and proposals. 
  • Demonstrable passion for digital and delivering social, environmental, and economic outcomes.
